|
| Introduction: Blue Square was launched on 5th May 1999 and is one of the largest interactive betting services in the UK. The product suite offered by Blue Square has grown from its traditional bookmaking business to now offer all aspects of the gaming market including casino, slots and poker with a goal to increase the product range in the near future. The fixed odds betting services covers many channels including the Internet, Interactive TV, WAP and telephone.
Blue Square was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Intercapital Group Ltd (ICAP) until January 2003 when it was acquired by Rank, one of the UK's leading leisure and entertainment companies. Rank's assets include casinos, bingo clubs and on-line gaming, as well as Hard Rock Cafes and global rights to the Hard Rock brand. Blue Square was integrated with Rank Interactive Gaming to create a major force in on-line gaming with a combined customer base of over 750,000 customers. |

First impression, design and page load.
Blue Square didn't impress me too much with there layout design. It seems too plain yet it does do they job. The page load took slightly longer than I thought it would for it's design but that is because every part of the site is a seperate image.

Opening of account.
Very easy to open an account at Blue Square. There aren't multiple pages that ask you to input multiple fields, but only one that asks you too input everything there. Easy enough for me.

Site navigation.
The navigation isn't bad at all. It is very simple and it is close together, whereas some sites make you scroll around for different things and it just gets plain ol' annoying. Blue Square makes it an easy stay for anyone.

Sports offered.
Blue Square doesn't offer too many sports but some of which they do are Football, Golf, Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, and Hockey. This isn't too many, and most of the sports aren't even played in America, which might disappoint American Gamblers.

Betting option.
Blue Square offers below average Betting Options. There really aren't many, some of which include Single bets, Trifecta Bets, and Each-Eay bets. Any double and triple bets must be acquired within a single bet.

Odds offered.
The Odds system is probably the best feature of Blue Square. This not only shows the +\- odds but it shows any even or over\under bets without clicking any links, which make it much easier for anyone.

Service and support.
Service is available 7 days a week. You can call there phone number or email them. Most inquiries are within 24 hours, and when I emailed them it took anywhere from 10 to 20 hours. You may also write to them and suggest or inquire about something.

Reliability.
Blue Square uses 128 Bit SSL Security along with VeriSign Technology, and any Sportsbook with a Verisign Logo means top notch security. Many other sportsbook that don't use this use a different Encryption Method.

Conclusion:
This was a weird review because I ended up scoring the end part higher than the beginning. This is a sportsbook for gamblers interested in starting out. I wouldn't really recommend this to the high limit user.
