The Gunners claimed an important psychological win over Chelsea on Monday. The win was well deserved with Arsenal dominating most periods of the game. The goals for Arsenal came through Alex Song, Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott.

Fabregas picked up his fifth yellow card against Chelsea and is therefore suspended for this game.

Wenger played Van Persie and Theo Walcott from the start against Chelsea and could rest the duo in favour of Andrei Arshavin and Marouane Chamakh on Wednesday against Wigan.

When the fixture lists came out, this game was scheduled to be on a Saturday. It was postponed 24 hours to give players enough time to recover from the international break. Recovery will be difficult for Ireland and Spurs captain Robbie Keane, as he looks to shake off the “Hand of God – Part 2″ incident as he leads fourth placed Tottenham onto the field against Wigan.

Wigan have just one injury problem – with Manuel Figueroa on the sidelines. Former Spurs man Erik Edman will deputize at left back. Also, it will be Winston Palacios’ first game against his old side after transferring to Spurs.

Match Verdict: I’ll put my money on Spurs to win this at home. Spurs have been playing free flowing attacking football at home and should go on to win this.

Manchester United have the opportunity to go above second placed Chelsea in the Premier League table when they host in form Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

United crushed a listless Chelsea 3-0 at OT on Sunday- a performance that will give them great confidence going into this game. Sir Alex Ferguson opted to leave Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes on the bench, and started with Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs in central midfield, with Park Ji Sung and Ronaldo on the wings. Giggs performed extremely well, and is likely to be rested for this clash, with Carrick or Anderson taking his place. Youngster Jonny Evans put in a composed performance in central defence, and he will continue to deputise for the injured Rio Ferdinand on Wednesday. In Friday evening’s only FA Cup game, Steve Bruce takes his Wigan side to London to play Tottenham Hotspur in a third round game.

Spurs were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion in the Premiership last Sunday, a shocking result considering the form West Brom were in prior to the game. Spurs also had Benoit Assou Ekotto sent off, and the left back will serve the first of his four game suspension on Friday. Defender Ledley King will not be risked with his knee problems, while Jermaine Jenas is also out injured with a calf problem. Tom Huddlestone has an ankle injury, and Alan Hutton continues to remain a long term absentee.
