NFL Football: Week 14 – My Picks Reviewed

Posted on | December 11, 2007 | No Comments

As I already said, I was 0-1 before Sunday even came.

So now let’s see how I did with all the games.

Saint Louis Rams at Cincinnati Bengals

My Pick: Rams 29-21

I was off on this one. The Rams returned to looking horrible and the Bengals did just enough to win.

The Result: Bengals 19-10

Dallas Cowboys at Detroit Lions

My Pick: Cowboys 31-13

The Lions came out ready to play and they dominated – yes dominated – the Cowboys for 3 quarters. But the Cowboys aren’t 12-1 for no reason. They go it together just enough to escape Detroit with a one point win.

The Result: Cowboys 28-27

Oakland Raiders at Green Bay Packers

My Pick: Packers 27-7

This one was the lopsided victory I expected. The Packers continued to look good and the Raiders continued to look bad.

The Result: Packers 38-7

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

My Pick: Bills 27-14

Yes, I now believe the Dolphins will go 0-16. They’ve quit playing.

The Bills absolutely humiliated them.

Result: Bills 38-14

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Houston Texans

My Pick: Bucs 21-20

The Bucs didn’t play like a playoff team. Not at all. They will win the South but they’ll get crushed by whichever Wildcard team they face. Mark it down.

The Result: Texans 28-14

San Diego Chargers at Tennessee Titans

My Pick: Chargers 20-10

Look out for the Chargers. If they continue to improve then they just might give the Pats or the Colts a problem in the Divisional Playoff. Though Philip Rivers would have to stop holding the team back.

The Result: Chargers 23-17

Carolina Panthers at Jacksonville Jaguars

My Pick: Jags 33-10

This one went like I thought it would. The Jags are a very good team as long as they aren’t playing a good team.

The Result: Jaguars 37-6

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

My Pick: Eagles 17-16

The Giants did just enough to win this game.

Actually they were helped out by a no-call pass interference (that was obviously PI) late in the game. Then they were helped out by Sam Madison of the Giants holding down an Eagles wide out.

The Result: Giants 16-13

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks

My Pick: Seahawks 27-17

The Seahawks have strung a few wins together. But they’re still not nearly as good as the Packers or the Cowboys or even the Vikings.

The Result: Seahawks 42-21

Minnesota Vikings at San Francisco 49ers

My Pick: Vikings 33-14

The Vikings are red-hot right now. No team wants to see them in the playoffs.

The Result: Vikings 27-7

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots

My Pick: Steelers 37-17

Okay, I was way off. I let my hatred for all things Patriots get in the way. I admit it.

Can you 16-0? I can.

The Result: Patriots 34-13

Cleveland Browns at New York Jets

My Pick: Browns 28-10

Cleveland continues to toll.

The Jets have to go into New England next week. Their only hope is that the weather keeps them within 30 points.

The Result: Browns 24-18

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

My Pick: Broncos 9-7

The Broncos showed some life. They threw the ball well and they ran the ball well.

Now, can they play well consistently?

The Result: Broncos 41-7

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens

My Pick: Colts 41-10

Yup, the Colts crushed the Ravens.

The Result: Colts 44-20

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons

My Pick: Saints 20-16

It was almost as if there was no Monday Night Football. Maybe worse.

The Result: Saints 34-14

This Week: 11-5

Season: 59-32
