NFL Football: Week 11 – Preview 2

Posted on | November 16, 2007 | No Comments

Slowly we draw closer to this weekend’s battles. A decent amount of people are jumping on the Buffalo Bills’ train and predicting them beat the Pats or to at least cover the large spread on this game, which is around 16 points. I’m not going to make an early prediction (I save all my predictions for Sunday mornings) but I will say that I have a hard time seeing how the Bills can win this one.

Marshawn Lynch isn’t expected to play in this game. JP Losman is. Unless Bills’ coach, Dick Jauron is pulling a Bill Bellichick and lying about the status of one of his players, then I don’t see how Buffalo could possibly hope to compete in this one. The Pats are coming off a bye and they’re always ready to play. The only thing the Bills have working in their favor is the home crowd, which will be rabid on Sunday night. But I don’t the experienced players on the Pats side will be too shaken by anything.

However, I do have a couple more days to think all this over and maybe I will come to pick the Bills. Who knows?

Moving over into the NFC, I think the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Washington Redskins will be a fun game to watch. Again, a lot of people are thinking differently on this one than me. I’ve heard many a prediction stating that the Cowboys will romp the Redskins. I don’t think so.

This series is probably the most heated in all of football. And whenever these two teams play, the records don’t have anything to do with the outcome. Just look back to the ’91-’92 season when the Redskins were 11-0 and hosting the Cowboys who had three of their last four games. A blowout for the Redskins, right? Nope. The Cowboys won the game.

Or how the 1993 season when the ‘Boys won their second Super Bowl. The Redskins would finish 4-12 that year, the Cowboys would go 12-4 and win the Super Bowl. These two teams met in the first game of the season and it was pretty much a blowout. Know who won? The Redskins.

Doesn’t make sense, right? These usually don’t make a whole lot of sense, so I’m not going to be so quick to say the Cowboys blow out the Redskins or that the ‘Boys will even win. But again, I have a couple days before I have to make my official prediction.
