NFL Football (10): Week 10 – Preview 3
As we creep closer to Sunday, I’m getting more and more excited about this Sunday’s games. The Cowboys and Giants will battle it out to see who is the top team in the NFC East and possibly the entire NFC. The Packers, who can’t run, will take on the Vikings and Adrian Petersen, who can only run. The Colts will look to bounce back from their loss against the Pats when they travel to San Diego.
Last week the Vikings’ rookie, Adrian Petersen, set a new one game rushing record when he ran all over the San Diego Chargers for 296 yards. On Sunday he’s going to face a very good Green Bay Packers defense. The big question is: Can Petersen have another big rushing day?
This game is being played in Green Bay at legendary Lambeau Field. The weather isn’t supposed to be all that bad though so Brett Favre should be able to sling the ball around.
But the biggest game on Sunday will be played in New York (technically New Jersey) at Giants Stadium. Of course these two teams met the first game of the season and the Cowboys won that one 45-35.
This entire week all we’ve heard is how that defense was not the Giants’ defense. All we’ve heard from the media and the Giants’ players was how much better this defense is now and how the Cowboys are going to have a lot more trouble moving the ball.
Here are some of the best excuses: Stahan wasn’t in football shape. The Giants defensive coordinator was coaching his first game. The Giants were used to the new system. The Giants didn’t have their best corners on the field.
The Strahan excuse is a good one. Thanks to him holding out of Training Camp, he wasn’t the player he is today. But the other excuses are just that – excuses.
Let’s not forget that the Dallas offense was being coached by a coordinator who was also coaching his first game. And let’s not forget that this was he first game for the Cowboys in the new offensive system – not to mention that Dallas was also getting used to a new Defensive Coordinator and a new Head Coach.
But we will see what happens on Sunday. It should be a good one and there won’t be any more excuses that can be made after this one.
