NFL Football (6): Week 9 – Recap

Now that Monday Night Football is over, here is how my picks fared.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons
My Pick: San Francisco 24-10
This game started off well but then the 49ers tanked and the Falcons stepped off. I was way off on this one. The Falcons won 20-16.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills
My Pick: Buffalo 23-20
I got this one right but it wasn’t this close. The Bills are on their way up and the Bengals are on their way down. The Bills won 33-21.
Denver Broncos vs. Detroit Lions
My Pick: Denver 28-27
This was a horrible pick by me. The Lions look like they are for real. They’re 6-2 and right behind the Packers in the NFL North. The Lions routed the Broncos 44-7.
Green Bay Packers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
My Pick: Kansas City 16-14
This pick looked good for a little more than a half. Then it went south. Perhaps I should stop picking games (but I won’t). The Packers are still tied for the best record in the NFC. The Pack won 33-22.
San Diego Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings
My Pick: Chargers 37-10
Another horrendous pick by me. I can’t figure out the Chargers. Apparently Norv Turner can’t either. The Vikings won 35-17.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints
My Pick: Saints 28-24
The Saints won their fourth straight. They seem to have re-discovered the magic from last year. The Saints won 41-24.
Washington Redskins vs. New York Jets
My Pick: Jets 17-13
I was really close on this one. The Jets played their hearts out and the Redskins continue to look like a pretender. The Redskins won in overtime 23-20.
Carolina Panthers vs. Tennessee Titans
My Pick: Titans 31-21
Tennessee continues to look good. If they weren’t in the AFC they might be able to do something in the playoffs. Titans won 20-7.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
My Pick: Buccaneers 30-24
The Bucs looked pretty good in this one. Tampa Bay did win 17-10.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Cleveland Browns
My Pick: Browns 37-20
You know the AFC is very intriguing. They have the powerhouses – New England and Indy. They have the almost powerhouse – the Steelers. And then they have upcoming teams that are young and hungry – the Titans and the Browns. The Browns won this one in OT by a score of 33-30.
Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders
My Pick: Texans 24-17
No one cares… But wait! I got this one exactly right, score and all. I should care!
New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts
My Pick: Colts 45-37
Great game, but not nearly as high scoring as I thought it would be. The Pats pulled it out late. The Pats won 24-20.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
My Pick: Cowboys 31-20
Donovan McNabb said the NFC East championship had to go through Philadelphia. And that just what the Cowboys did – they went right through the Eagles. The Cowboys won 38-17.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
My Pick: Steelers 27-10
I was pretty much on with this one. It was over early. The Steelers won 38-7.
My Record: This week 8-6. All-time 8-6.
