NFL Football (4): Week 9 – My Picks
Posted on | November 4, 2007 | No Comments
Here it is Sunday morning. So it’s time for my picks.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons
In a week filled with great match-ups, we’ll start off with one of the less intriguing games. The Falcons are horrible this year as they try to get on with lie after Michael Vick. The 49ers have flashes of playing good football. Those flashes will be enough to lead the 49ers to victory.
My Pick: San Francisco 24-10
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Buffalo Bills
Here’s a game between a team that has underachieved (the Bengals) and a team that has overachieved recently (the Bills). This game will be close but I like the Bills at home.
My Pick: Buffalo 23-20
Denver Broncos vs. Detroit Lions
The Lions are a surprise this year as they’ve shown that they’re one of the best teams in the NFC. The Broncos have struggled and they are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Packers on Monday night. I’m thinking the Broncos are just desperate enough to win this game. It will probably come down to a last second field goal.
My Pick: Denver 28-27
Green Bay Packers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Green Bay is coming off a great win on Monday night. The Packers are also the best team in the NFC, based on their record. However, the Packers can only throw the ball. Their lack of being able to run will finally hurt them. Kansas City will pull the upset.
My Pick: Kansas City 16-14
San Diego Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings
San Diego has finally begun to play up to their potential. Minnesota can’t pass and they can’t play defense. This one could get ugly very early.
My Pick: Chargers 37-10
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints
Everyone seems to think the Jaguars are one of the best teams in the AFC, yet every time I see them play they don’t impress me. The Saints have played a lot better the last couple of weeks. The Saints will win a close game here.
My Pick: Saints 28-24
Washington Redskins vs. New York Jets
The question here is whether the Redskins can bounce back from the mauling they took last week in New England. I say they have a hangover and the Jets jump on the chance to kick the Skins while they’re down.
My Pick: Jets 17-13
Carolina Panthers vs. Tennessee Titans
The Panthers are too inconsistent. The Titans are a solid team and they’ll play like it today.
My Pick: Titans 31-21
Arizona Cardinals vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs turned the ball over too much last week. They won’t do that again this week.
My Pick: Buccaneers 30-24
Seattle Seahawks vs. Cleveland Browns
The Seahawks need to get their game together in a hurry. The Browns have played a lot better than most expected. The Seahawks will play well but the Browns offense will be too much for the Seahawks.
My Pick: Browns 37-20
Houston Texans vs. Oakland Raiders
Anyone care?
My Pick: Texans 24-17
New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts
There’s been enough said about this game already. All that’s left to do is to play the game. I like both offenses. I like the Colts defense more. I think the Pats’ defense will wear down because they’re a little too old (especially their linebackers). The Colts’ tight ends will make the difference.
My Pick: Colts 45-37
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles need this game to stay alive in the NFC East. The Cowboys need this game to prove they are the best in the NFC East. This will be a fun one to watch after the Pats/Colts.
My Pick: Cowboys 31-20
Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Baltimore isn’t that good. Pittsburgh is.
My Pick: Steelers 27-10
