Hot Players

When deciding to bet on a team, one key piece of information is how players are trending. Is the superstar struggling? Is the leadoff hitter on fire? How’s the pitcher been doing? Today, we are going to shine the light on a handful of players who are red hot right now. As you know, baseball is a game of streaks. Players get hot then get cold and some run even all year.
Nomar Garciaparra is red hot right now. He’s come a long way from barely showing up in spring training. Over the last seven days, he has hit .480 with three homeruns with eight RBIs.
Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols has been tearing the cover off of the ball this year. Over the past seven days he has a .429 average with three homers and 10 RBIs.
The Twins have been playing a little better lately and perhaps Justin Morneau is one reason why. Over the past seven days he is hitting .417 with 3 homers, 11 RBIs and 1 stolen base.
Like to bet on pitching? Take a look at this six pack of red hot pitchers. All of them have a 2.20 ERA or less and each won has gone 1-0 or 2-0 in this past week.
- Roy Halladay (TOR) 2-0 1.00 ERA
- Tony Armas (WAS) 2-0 0.69 ERA
- Dan Haren (OAK) 2-0 2.20 ERA
- Jason Schmidt (SF) 1-0 1.69 ERA
- Brett Myers (PHI) 1.80 ERA
- Jon Lieber (PHI) 1-0 0.00 ERA
Keep these players in mind when you go to place your bets this week.
