Everton skipper Phil Neville has praise Landon Donovan for his influence at Goodison Park after completing his second loan spell with the Toffees.

The Los Angeles Galaxy star has been forced to return to his parent club, with the start of the new MLS season just around the corner.

Donovan has revealed his fondness of Everton and the club’s loyal supporters, who have endured a less than convincing first-half of the campaign. People who bet on Premier League games will know that things have improved though.

The United States international has returned to his homeland but his two months in the Premier League have not gone unnoticed, as Neville has been impressed with the 29-year-old’s impact at the club both on and off the field.

Neville told the club’s official website: “Last time he came here, he lit the place up.

“He came back this time a couple of years older and with more expectation on his shoulders.

“It was just nice that he could thank the fans for a tremendous two months. He was a breath of fresh air around the place.

“He immersed himself in the whole club – not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well. We will miss him.”

Everton currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League table, with nine points between themselves and a top six finish, that would bring European football back to Goodison Park. Those following the Premier League betting should bear this in mind.

The Toffees also find themselves in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and will host Sunderland on March 17, in a bid to secure a place in the final four of the domestic competition.
