This is another massive game in the Premier League schedule, with both of these sides challenging for top honours this term. Such achievements were expected for Tottenham, yet Newcastle have surprised many and their supporters will be hoping that their side can close the gap on their opponents as just two positions and eight points separate the two clubs.

As well as catching the nations eye for the standard reasons, a lot of people will be watching this game due to Harry Redknapp. It has certainly been an eventful week for the former West Ham manager, as after been cleared of tax evasion he has constantly been linked with the newly-vacant England manager position. Such speculation will not go down well with Tottenham, who have simply been transformed since Redknapp took over. While the title seems a distant dream, it is certainly not impossible with Spurs currently seven points away from top spot. However, they have missed a couple of chances to pick up more points this term, after drawing with Liverpool and losing 3-2 to Man City. On a more positive note, the club have not lost in any of their last eight at White Hart Lane.

Newcaslte meanwhile are not seen as title contenders, but some of the St James’ Park faithful may have aspirations of a Champions League finish. With just one point keeping them from 4th spot, they certainly have a very good chance of finishing in the top four especially considering their most recent results. The Magpies have won four of their last five in the Premier League, although Alan Pardew might be slightly concerned at their away form which has seen them win just one of their last four. Still, a lot of Newcastle’s fans are very excited about the remaining games of the season, with the blossoming strike force of Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse tipped to cause problems for a lot of Premier League defences.

There is mixed team news for Tottenham ahead of this game, with the likes of Jermaine Defoe and Aaron Lennon set to return to action but Ledley King, Sandro and Younes Kaboul are poised for late fitness tests while Rafael van der Vaart will definitely miss out. It’s mainly negative for Newcastle on the other hand, with Alan Pardew set to be without three players. Yohan Cabaye will complete a ban, while injury will keep out Leon Best and Ryan Taylor who are struggling with medial ligament damage and ankle problems respectively.

As for a prediction, Tottenham’s solid home form means that we are cancelling out a defeat for Spurs. However, Newcastle have looked impressive in recent weeks and with their strikers causing all sorts of problems for teams, our tip is going to be an eventful 2-2 result for this clash.
