Getting Ready for MLB Baseball
Well, sports bettors, the MLB baseball season is about to get underway. Spring training is going along well for some, not so much for others. The 2006 MLB season will officially begin in April 2006. It’s going to be a long season filled with betting opportunities. I thought we would take a look at some key baseball players and see how they are doing in spring training so far.
The Hot List
Chris Duncan of the St. Louis Cardinals – He’s had a healthy 44 plate appearances already. He’s .318 with two doubles and four home runs.
Kevin Appier of the Seattle Mariners – He’s pitched 5 innings over two appearances and has mowed down 4 batters, giving up only two hits and no runs.
Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies – Howard is leading the home run race for spring training with 8 long balls. He’s also hitting .410 with two doubles and 13 RBIs.
The Cold List
Nomar Garciaparra of the Los Angeles Dodgers – He’s only batting .172 against mainly poor minor league talent. What are his chances of hitting well against the real pitchers?
Randy Johnson of the New York Yankees – He’s pitched 12 full innings over 3 outings so far and it has not bee pretty. Johnson has turned into a hits and homer machine. He’s curtailed it a little and brought his ERA down to 5.25.
Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox – Ok, he’s only pitched four innings in one appearance, but it was disgusting. His ERA is 9.00.
It’s going to be a great MLB season—I can’t wait!
