Rangers vs Angels Match Up

Tonight, the Texas Rangers take on the Los Angeles Angels in the final of a three game series. The first game was pretty much dominated by the Angels. However, last night’s game was a bit of a heartbreaker for the Rangers. They were up 4-3 going into the bottom of the ninth and they gave up not only the tying run, but the go ahead run as well. The Rangers are hoping to avoid the sweep and capture at least one game in this series. Things won’t get any easier for the Rangers if they don’t win tonight. They continue their road trip on Friday when they visit the Oakland A’s.
The weather for the game looks very nice. The Angels are putting Kelvim Escobar on the mound, while the Rangers are countering with John Koronka. Escobar has pitched one game this year so far. It was at home verses the Yankees and he basically shut them down by allowing only 6 hits and 1 run over his 6 inning appearance. His ERA is currently 1.50. The ERA and performance might be a bit deceiving as the Yankees went through a scoring slump.
Koronka’s lone appearance this year was against Detroit where he was hammered. Koronka surrendered 6 hits, one home run and four runs in just five innings of work. It might be important to note that he gave up the same number of hits as Escobar. Had the Yankees done a better job at converting those hits, this game might appear to be slightly more even. The Angels have showed a decent bullpen so far this year.
The Angels and Escobar are a $1.85 favorite right now. If you like the Angels and play them on the Run Line, you can get a great value and pick up the Angels at +110. Another play option might be the under/over, which currently resides at 9.
