Game :- England vs Algeria
Competition :- 2010 FIFA World Cup
Venue :- Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town
Date :- Friday, 18th June 2010
KO time:- 20.30 South African time

After making life difficult for themselves with the draw against USA, England would be looking to bounce back against Algeria whom they play at Cape Town on Friday. Will Robert Green start against Algeria? Check out the odds at Paddy Power and you could make a quick buck.

England form- last five games- most recent first

England 1-1 USA (Gerrard)
Japan 1-2 England ( Japan OG, Japan OG)
England 3-1 Mexico ( Ledley King, Peter Crouch, Glen Johnson)
England 3-1 Egypt ( Peter Crouch*2, Shaun Wright Phillips)
Brazil 1-0 England

Fabio Capello is boosted by the return of Gareth Barry for this crucial game against Algeria. England looked shabby on the wings with neither Milner nor Lennon performing upto potential. Gareth Barry will probably slot straight into centre midfield with Millner and Lennon fighting it out for the right wing spot. Peter Crouch may get a look in from the start in place of Emile Heskey. Gerrard will be given a floating role.

Robert Green’s howler cost England a win against US. Capello will have to decide whether to replace the West Ham keeper with David James who himself is famous for committing high profile mistakes. Gerrard, Milner and Carragher are on a yellow.

Algeria recent form- most recent games first

Algeria 0-1 Slovenia
Algeria 1-0 UAE ( Karim Ziani)
Ireland 3-0 Algeria
Algeria 0-3 Serbia
Nigeria 1-0 Algeria

Algeria have not scored in four of their last five games and they have problems of their own. Faouzi Chaouchi’s blunder denied them a point against Slovenia. Another loss against England would spell the end of their competition. Abdelkader Ghezzal is suspended after being sent off against Slovenia. Hasan Yebda is on a yellow. Rafik Saifi, who started on the bench against Slovenia is likely to get a look in from the start.

Verdict: England 2-0 Algeria (Rooney,Crouch)

With Barry returning to the squad, England should overcome Algeria who have been poor in attack in recent times.
