Just Like I Told You

Yesterday, I talked to you about getting Pedro Martinez on the cheap. Just like I predicted, the Mets won the game by five runs. Poor sports bettors took Pedro and the Mets at -$2.30. Decent sports bettors stayed away from the game due to the money being far too high. Solid sports bettors took Pedro and the Mets on the run line at -1.10 and ran all the way to the bank. If you were trying to win $100, would you rather risk losing $110 to do it or $230?

Now that you understand this strategy a little more, you can begin to take a peak at high money games. When one team is vastly superior to the opponent, don’t be shy about playing the run line. I don’t recommend doing it in any other instance. When you have two teams who are even somewhat close, the concept does not hold up as well.

Today’s action is interesting, because it features a ton of starters who are rock bottom in the rotation. I don’t have any plays for today, but I am watching a ton of games. What happens today will help setup the next rotation of pitching and games. Keep your eye on the Philadelphia Phillies, who are at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Phillies are about a -1.30 favorite with G. Floyd on the mound. They are at home and looking to get their first win. The Dodgers are coming cross country and could be a little tired for this game.
