United were in top form as they disposed off AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The Red Devils crushed Milan 4-0 and never looked in trouble at any point of the game. Wayne Rooney was again United’s destructor in chief with two goals.
Michael Carrick was suspended for United’s game against Milan, but is available for selection against Fulham.
Manchester United:- last used starting lineup :- Van der Sar- Neville, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra- Park, Scholes, Fletcher- Nani, Valencia- Rooney
Fulham on the other hand tasted defeat away from home in Europe. It was always going to be difficult for Roy Hodgson’s men against a quality outfit like Juventus, but the 3-1 loss has perhaps left the Cottagers with too much to do at the home leg next week, despite their envious home record.
Danny Murphy missed the Juve clash through suspension but will be back against Man United, a team against whom he has enjoyed a fair amount of success as a person in recent times.
Fulham- last starting lineup- Schwarzer, Baird, Hangeland, Hughes, Konchesky, Duff, Davies, Etuhu, Greening, Gera, Zamora
Man United form- last five games- most recent first- Man United scorers in brackets
Man United 4-0 Milan ( Rooney*2, Park, Fletcher)
Wolves 0-1 Man United ( Scholes)
Aston Villa 1-2 Man United ( Owen, Rooney)
Man United 3-0 West Ham ( Owen, Rooney*2)
Everton 3-1 Man United ( Berbatov)
Please note:- Michael Owen is injured and will play not part in this fixture.
Juventus 3-1 Fulham ( Dickson Etuhu)
Fulham 0-0 Tottenham
Sunderland 0-0 Fulham
Shakhtar 1-1 Fulham ( Hangeland)
Fulham 2-1 B’City ( Duff, Zamora)
Verdict:- Roy Hodgson has changed things around at Fulham, but Man United will be too strong for them at Old Trafford.
Manchester United 2-1 Fulham ( Rooney, Valencia/ Zamora)
