NFL: Can Favre Keep it Up? Can the Saints and Colts Stay Perfect?

This NFL season is really turning out to be one of the more interesting ones in the last couple of decades. Sure, there seems to be a huge gap between the really good teams and the rest of the league, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it’s going to make for a great playoff. Plus, though logic would say the Colts will run away with the AFC and play either the Saints or the Vikings, I’m not sold. I don’t think any of those teams are a lock at this point.

Of all the interesting things to keep an eye on, two of the more interesting are Brett Favre and the attempt for perfection by both the Saints and the Colts.

So, the first question is: Can Favre keep it up? Well, normally I would say that his old body will give out, especially when the games get a lot colder. However, Favre has the benefit of playing in a dome. He also has a pretty easy schedule heading down the stretch. And he doesn’t get hit all that often either. But there are still some tough games on the schedule – especially the Bengals and this week at the Cardinals. We’ll see what happens with Favre over the next two weeks.

As for the Saints and the Colts remaining perfect, I don’t think either one of them will finish the season undefeated. I think the Colts will have their hands full this week against the Titans and they have a couple other possible slip-ups too (including the final game in Buffalo where the Colts could be in trouble).

The Saints will have their hands full when the Cowboys come to town. I’m taking the Cowboys in that game. But the Saints also have to visit Atlanta the week before the Dallas game. That won’t be any easy game either. And it will be interesting to see how the Saints do in Washington this week.
