As the season continues to grow older and we get close to the playoffs, these ranking take on more and more meaning. So, let’s get right to this week’s rankings:

7. Cincinnati Bengals

The slots 4-7 are definitely the hardest ones to fill. Any of the these teams can be switched around.

But we’ll start with the Bengals at #7. Maybe it’s because they’re the Bengals and I can’t quite allow myself to think of them as a good team.

6. New England Patriots

Sorry, but the Pats were totally outclassed a couple nights ago and I think it is a big deal for them. They just aren’t that good of a team. They’re a top 7 team, but not a top 5 team.

5. Dallas Cowboys

Like it or not, the Cowboys have won 6 of their last 7 games. That’s pretty impressive. If the Cowboys can beat the Giants in New York then they will rise stand a good chance at rising even higher.

4. San Diego Chargers

Are the Chargers the 2nd best team in the AFC? It looks like they just might be. But then again, I could see them losing to half dozen teams in the AFC. But they deserve to be sitting at #4 right now.

3. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts might be undefeated but they’re a vulnerable team. That’s why they’re just #3. Matched up against the Saints or Vikings, I don’t see the Colts winning.

2. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings are a very impressive team. Great defense, great running game, and a great passing game too. Did I really just say that? Yes, Favre has been outstanding. But I’m still not sold on him playing this well all season.

1. New Orleans Saints

Yup, the Saints are undefeated and they’re coming off a huge game against the Pats. That is plenty to earn them the top spot in this week’s rankings (as if they weren’t already there).
