Game: Fulham vs Blackburn Rovers
Competition: Barclays Premier League
Venue: Craven Cottage, London
KO Time: 20:00 GMT
Blackburn will be hoping to consolidate on their first away victory as Bolton last week as they continue their climb up the table when the pay a visit to Roy Hodgson’s Fulham at Craven Cottage. Can Blackburn secure back to back away wins in the League ? Bet with our favorite bookmakers and make some money.
Last few games – Fulham -(Most recent first)
v. Birmingham (loss) 0-1
v. Wigan (draw) 1-1 (Dempsey)
v. Liverpool (win) 3-1 (Zamora, Nevland, Dempsey)
v. Man City (draw) 2-2 (Duff, Dempsey)
Roy Hodgson won the Manager of the Month award for October when his side managed to draw against Manchster City away and win at home against Liverpool. But the two marquee results have been followed by rather mediocre performances. Fulham managed to grab only one point out of their next two games against Wigan and Birmingham. Hodgson would be looking for an improved performance against Blackburn.
Although Fulham have no major injury worries, there is considerable doubt over the participation of Danny Murphy, Diomansy Kamara and Erik Nevland – neither of whom featured against Birmingham. Andy Johnson is still recovering from a knee injury.
Form guide – Blackburn (most recently played game on top)
v. Bolton (Win) 2-0 (Dunn, Ricketts OG)
v. Portsmouth (Win) 3-1 (Roberts*2, Nelsen)
v. Man Utd (Loss) 0-2
v. Chelsea (Loss) 0-5
Blackburn secured their first away win of the season and looked in fine form as they brushed aside Bolton. Sam Allardyce would be hoping for a repeat of the same performance at Fulham. Sam Allardyce has a full squad to choose from barring Swedish left-back Olsson who is down with a virus. Keith Andrews did not start against Bolton after the draining World Cup playoff against France and might be brought into the centre of midfield in place of Emerton. David Dunn will be the main threat for Fulham. His recent performances have seen Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen demanding an England callup for the lad.
Match verdict:I kind of fancy Blackburn for this tie. Although Blackburn do not travel well, they are free from injuries and should have a real go at the Fulham defence.
Fulham 1-2 Blackburn (Gera // Di Santo, Roberts)
