NFL: Undefeated and Winless Going Into Week 8
Posted on | November 1, 2009 | No Comments
It’s almost unbelievable that we’re already in week 8 of the NFL season. We’re now beginning to get a real picture of what teams are best in this season. Of course there will be some teams that will fold late, and other teams that will get on a run sometime soon. But we now have a pretty good idea of what teams are really good and what teams aren’t any good at all.
First, let’s take a look at the bad teams. And there are some really bad teams this year. In fact, there are still 3 teams who’ve yet to notch a win. Those 3 teams are the Tennessee Titans, the St. Louis Rams, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Obviously the Titans are the biggest disappointment here. But there are about to change back to Vince Young for their quarterback. So, we will see what happens with that.
Now, the undefeated teams are the New Orleans Saints, the Denver Broncos, and the Indianapolis Colts. Which of these teams is the best? Probably the Saints but that certainly doesn’t mean the Saints will be playing the best football when it counts – in the playoffs. The Colts have looked really good too. And, although I’ve doubted the Broncos, they are a good team too. However, they could easily be 4-2 instead of 6-0.
Denver will get a test this Sunday when they travel to Baltimore. The Colts will play host to the 49ers. As I said after the Niners hot start, they are a .500 team at best. The Niners are 3-3 now and they’ll have a tough time winning this game. And the Saints will host the Falcons on Monday night. The Falcons just lost to the Cowboys and the Saints are coming off a comeback win against Miami. This will be a great Monday night game to watch.
Will any of the winless teams win this week? Well, I’ll take a shot at predicting a couple of their games when I blog about my predictions for Week 8.
