Also returning is Didider Drogba who missed the 5-0 rout of Atletico Madrid due to a European supension. Bratislav Ivanovic will continue to deputise for the injured Jose Bosingwa. Joe Cole, Yuri Zhirkov and Jon Obi Mikel are struggling for match fitness and hence may start from the bench.
Form guide – Blackburn (most recently played game on top)
v. Burnley (Win) 3-2 (Chimbonda, Dunn, Di Santo)
v. Arsenal(Loss) 2-6 (NZonzi, Dunn)
v. Aston Villa (Win) 2-1 (Samba, Dunn)
v. Nott Forest (Win) 1-0 (McCarthy)
Blackburn are in good decent form going into the tie, collecting six points from a possible nine in the League. Blackburn are likely to field the same team that worked wonders against Burnley minus Franco Di Santo. The Argentinian striker, who is on loan from Chelsea, is unavailable to play against his parent club.
Match Verdict: Chelsea will be expected to continue their strong home run against Blackburn. Rovers are vulnerable against strong attacks, having already let in six against Arsenal. Chelsea should go on to win this won by a fair margin.
Chelsea 3-1 Blackburn Rovers (Drogba,Lampard,Terry // Pedersen)
