NFL: Looking at Key Games for Week 5
Posted on | October 9, 2009 | No Comments
Looking at the match-ups for week 5, it’s a little tough to find any great match-ups in the early games. In fact, it’s pretty much impossible. There just isn’t any great games. But the last games, the Sunday night game, and the Monday night game are all big match-ups.
Among the big match-ups the New England Patriots will visit the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are 4-0 and are the talk of the town. But all the talk is ridiculous. This isn’t a very good team. And the Pats will come in with something to prove too. If Denver wins this game then I will be a little more of a believer. But I doubt that will happen.
Another great game to watch will be the Atlanta Falcons at the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are another team that the media fell in love with. I don’t think they have a chance against the Falcons. The Niners just aren’t that good yet.
Another game will be the New York Jets at the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins backed themselves into a corner by starting 0-3. But last week they looked really good in thumping the Bills. Now they have a chance to knock off another divisonal opponent. A for the Jets, they have a chance to beat the defending division champ on the road. That would be a huge win for Mark Sanchez and for the entire Dolphins team. A match-up to watch within this match-up is the Miami offense against the aggressive Jets defense.
Finally, another great game to watch will be the undefeated Indianapolis Colts at the winless Tennessee Titans. A month or so ago this looked like it might be a huge match-up of undefeated. How far the mighty Titans have fallen. The Titans lose this game and you can stick a fork in them. 0-5 will be too big of a whole to climb out of. The Colts know it and would love to get this win.
