NFL: Picking 3 More Games for Week 3
Posted on | September 27, 2009 | No Comments
Yesterday we picked 3 games for this week’s NFL games. Now, we’re going to pick 3 more. And – just for fun – I’m going to take the winners (against the spread) in each game. Again, these games are just games that interest me (and a lot of other people). There’s certainly no real rhyme or reason to how I choose these games.
New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Giants are favored by 6.5 points in this game. That’s not nearly enough. Expect the Giants to finally get their running game going. And expect Eli Manning to have an even better game than he did against the Cowboys last Sunday night.
The Giants will win this game by at least 2 touchdowns.
Indianapolis Colts at Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are favored by 2.5 points in this game. That’s less than a field goal.
This will be a very interesting game to watch. Both the Colts and the Cards should be good this year and they’ve both shown flashes of being very good. But they’ve also shown flashes of being very ordinary.
I actually like the Cards to cover here. They might not win by much more than 3 but they will win by that much.
Carolina Panthers at Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are favored by 8.5 points in this game. That number seems awfully high to me. And when an betting line seems off, there is usually something crazy that will happen in the game.
A lot of people are burying the Cowboys already. If Romo lays another egg like he did last Sunday then the Boys are in trouble. If the Cowboys defense doesn’t start getting sacks and turnovers then they are in trouble.
If Carolina loses this game then they are in trouble.
Dallas has shown an ability to stop the run. So, it will come down to Delhomme against Dallas’ secondary and pass rush.
I’m not sure why, but 8.5 points is too high. I think Dallas will find a way to pull this one out but I don’t see them covering.
