NFL: Picking 3 Games for Week 3

Today I’m going to pick 3 NFL games and make some picks. Then tomorrow I’ll do the same thing all over again. These are games that aren’t picked for any particular reason. Most of all, I’m not going to just pick games that I think are easy to pick.
So, let’s get started…
Washington Redskins at the Detroit Lions
The Redskins are favored by 6.5 in this one. Many “experts” like this to be the week that Detroit busts their losing streak that stretches back all the way into 2007. But I don’t see the Redskins blowing this game. Their defense will find a way to stop the Lions enough to win the game.
However, I don’t think the Skins will cover either. So, I’m going to go with the Lions and the points.
San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings
Here the Vikings are getting 7 points. The Vikings are a very solid team without a whole lot of holes. The Niners are a surprise team (so far).
Singletary has San Fran playing like their hair’s on fire. And you can bet they are going to do everything in their power to attack the line of scrimmage so that they can stop Adrian Petersen before he gets started. You can also bet they’ll try to knock Favre around.
In the end though, I like the Vikings to cover and then some. AP will break a couple long runs and the Vikings defense will hold down the Niners.
Tennessee Titans at New York Jets
The Jets are getting 2.5 points here.
It’s the Titans that need a win badly. And they get it too. They’ll put a lot of pressure on Sanchez and play a nice ball-controlled offense. The Titans will win the game.
So, looking at the odds and just picking for fun, I’m going to have to go with the Lions, the Vikings, and the Jets.
