Fulham vs Arsenal betting preview

Posted on | September 25, 2009 | No Comments

Game : Fulham FC ( 14th- 6 points) vs Arsenal FC ( 7th- 9 points)

Venue : Craven Cottage, London

Competition : English Premier League

Date : Saturday, September 26, 2009. Game kicks off at 17.30 UK time

After Chelsea played Tottenham last week, the city of London will be witness to another derby as Fulham host Arsenal this weekend at Craven Cottage. The Cottagers beat Arsenal at home and held them to a goalless draw at the Emirates last season, so this is a game the Gunners will not take lightly.

Fulham have won only once in their last five games. However one must remember that four of these five games were away from home, and Fulham, like many decent sides, are very strong at home. Last weekend’s trip to Molineux ended in a 2-1 loss for Roy Hodgson’s men. In their midweek Carling Cup loss against Man City, Simon Davies aggravated his football problem, and will therefore miss this derby. Left back Paul Konchesky and midfielder Toni Kallio are also unavailable

Fulham form last five games ( most recent first)

Man City 2-1 Fulham ( Zoltan Gera)
Wolves 2-1 Fulham ( Danny Murphy pen)
CSKA Sofia 1-1 Fulham ( Diomansy Kamara)
Fulham 2-1 Everton ( Paul Konchesky, Damien Duff)
Aston Villa 2-0 Fulham

Andy Johnson is a likely scorer. Brede Hangeland can be dangerous from set pieces with his height. Danny Murphy will take any penalties won by Fulham.

Arsenal hammered Wigan Athletic 4-0 last week to return to winning ways. Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen scored twice, with Eduardo and skipper Cesc Fabregas netting.

Andrei ARSHAVIN is back for the Gunners after recovering from his groin injury. However Manuel Almunia continues to be unavailable with a chest infection. Denilson, Samir Nasri and Johan Djorou are all injured.

Last five games Arsenal ( Most recent first)

Arsenal 2-0 WBA ( Sanchez Watt, Carlos Vela- Carling Cup)
Arsenal 4-0 Wigan ( Vermaelen*2, Fabregas, Eduardo)
Standard 2-3 Arsenal ( Vermaelen, Bendtner, Eduardo)
Man City 4-2 Arsenal ( Robin Van Persie, Tomas Rosicky)
Man United 2-1 Arsenal ( Andrei Arshavin)

Fulham won’t be easy to beat at home, but I think Arsenal have the quality to beat them.

Verdict :- Fulham 0-2 Arsenal ( Eduardo, Arshavin)
