NFL: The Super Seven

It’s always really tough to get a true read on any ream after the first week of the season. In fact, it usually takes at least three or four weeks to know exactly what a team is all about. Even then, there will always be a couple teams that get a lot better after the fourth week (or later) and a couple teams who get a lot worse sometime after the fourth week.
But, let’s throw all of that aside for now and let’s take a shot at ranking the top 7 teams in the NFL.
7. New York Giants
Okay, we’re about to see if the Giants belong here. But they beat a decent Redskins team and now they travel to Dallas. If they get a win over the Cowboys then they’ll vault themselves up a few spots. If they lose then they will drop out of the rankings.
6. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are in the same boat as the Giants. Their offense looked good against a young Tampa bay defense. Let’s see what happens against the Giants monster front seven.
5. New England Patriots
Sorry, but the Pats haven’t proven anything in the last couple of years. Last night they got extremely lucky against a mediocre Buffalo team. The Pats probably shouldn’t even be ranked, but here they are.
4. Philadelphia Eagles
Yeah, they lost McNabb. And yes they got a lot of easy points against Carolina thanks to Delhomme. However, they still went into Carolina and came away with a lopsided win. That counts as something.
3. New Orleans Saints
They need to be better on defense. But their offense is awesome. Wow. Just wow.
2. Minnesota Vikings
They have a lot of great parts to this team. Great defense. Great running back. But old quarterback. Still, they are a really good team.
1. Pittsburgh Steelers
They didn’t impress me too much in week one. However, they played a really good team and until they get beaten, they are the #1 team. That’s what they get for winning the Super Bowl.
