NFL: Looking at the AFC
For the past couple of days I’ve taken a look at the NFC. I predicted which teams I thought would make the playoffs and I even took a shot at predicting the NFC team that I thought would make the playoffs (I took the Saints). So, now I’m going to go ahead and try to predict each division in the AFC.
Let’s start with the AFC East. Last year the Miami Dolphins came out of nowhere to win the division. This year the Dolphins won’t be so lucky. Assuming that the Tom Brady stays healthy for the Pats, they will win this division. But I do like the Dolphins to finish 2nd, the Bills to finish 3rd, and the New York Jets to finish last in the division.
In the AFC North I like the Baltimore Ravens to beat out the Pittsburgh Steelers for the division crown. Then I think it will be the Cleveland Browns and then the Cincinnati Bengals. I do think it will be a great battle between the Ravens and the Steelers though. Something like the Ravens finishing 12-4 and the Steelers finishing 11-5.
In the AFC South I like the Tennessee Titans to win the division. They’ll be followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Houston Texans. Yes, I like the Jags to finish ahead of the Colts.
Finally, in the AFC West the San Diego Chargers will easily win the division. All the other teams in the division are just a mess. I do like the Raiders to finish 2nd, then the Broncos, and then the Chiefs.
So, in the playoffs we will have all the division winners (the Patriots, the Ravens, the Titans, and the Chargers). Then I like the Steelers to take the #5 seed and the Dolphins to sneak in as the #6 seed.
Now, tomorrow I will take a look at how I see the playoffs – including the Super Bowl – shaping up. Then on Thursday, it will be time to get ready for the first game that night!
