Okay, here goes nothing.

Yesterday I took a shot at the teams I thought would make the playoffs from the NFC. Now, against my better judgment, I’m going to take a shot at how the playoffs will unfold in the NFC. The season hasn’t even started yet and a lot can and will happen in the next 17 weeks of the season… but here goes nothing.

So, we have the New York Giants, the Minnesota Vikings, the New Orleans Saints, and the Arizona Cardinals all winning their division. Then we have the Dallas Cowboys taking the 5th seed and the Chicago Bears taking the 6th seed. And from the 4 division leaders I like the Saints to take the #1 seed, the Giants to take the #2 seed, the Vikings as the #3 seed and the Cardinals as the 4 seed.

So, in the Wild Card round of the playoffs we would have the Vikings playing the Bears and the Cardinals playing the Cowboys. I like the Vikings and the Cowboys to advance.

That would bring games pitting the Cowboys against the Saints and the Vikings playing the Giants.

What a shootout we would see in New Orleans. Romo vs Brees. Former Cowboys offensive coordinator, Sean Payton, vs. current Cowboys offensive coordinator, Jason Garrett. This would be a great game. But I will go with the Saints to win a very close game thanks to the homefield advantage.

The other game would be the Giants against the Vikings. The Giants defense would rise to the occasion and put a lot of pressure on Favre. But Adrian Petersen would keep the Vikings in it for most of the game. However, Eli and company would prevail.

So, the Giants would travel to New Orleans. Brees would rise up and play a great game. The Giants wouldn’t be able to keep up.

So, my prediction is that the New Orleans Saints will go to the Super Bowl.
