With September just a whisper away, the games are going to mean more and more. But right now there are are some big games being played. In fact, there are 2 huge series being played right now. One if the Colorado Rockies taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers and the other is the New York Yankees taking on the Texas Rangers. Of course, the Anaheim Angels and the Detroit Tigers is a pretty big series too.

But the biggest series right now is the Dodgers at the Rockies. It’s almost unbelievable that this is even a race. But it’s not only a race, it could be a tied race by the end of the day tomorrow. That’s if the Rockies take the next 2 games of the series. After being completely out of the race and like 15 games back, it seemed absolutely impossible that the Rockies could ever climb all the way back. Yet here they are. I seriously doubt they’ll be able to actually win the division but I’ve been wrong before.

Meanwhile, the Texas Rangers are battling it out with the New York Yankees. The Rangers are right on the heels of the Boston Red Sox for the Wild Card. The Red Sox are actually playing better baseball and they are taking it to the Chicago White Sox so far. So the Rangers need to play well and win the series against the Yankees. Texas got off to a good start yesterday with a 10-9 win over the Yankees. That was a game the Rangers should’ve won easily. But the Yankees scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning and lost 10-9. But the Yankees really should have won the game in the 9th. With a rally going and 4 runs already in, and with runners of 1st and 2nd and nobody out, manager Joe Girardi killed his own team’s rally when he asked Nick Swisher to bunt. Swicher bunted a little pop out and that killed the rally.

Anyway, there are some really big games being played right now. Games that will go a long way in determining who makes it to the postseason.
