Portland Trailblazers vs Miami Heat

While Shaquille O’Neal is gradually recovering from his calf injury, Dwayne Wade has figured prominently for the Heat, averaging 30 points and 8 assists the last 7 games. Last Sunday, they dropped the Spurs like a bad hat with a convincing 100-85 victory, playing remarkable defense that held San Antonio without a single field goal for a 7-minute stretch. With Shaq getting better game by game, Miami looks to continue their winning form against the Blazers, whom they have dominated in the past 4 games between the two. However, Portland is a good road team, with a 4-1 ATS playing away and had surprised the Wizards with a 94-73 win as a 7-point underdog on Sunday.
LaMarcus Aldridge and Jarrett Jack are bringing in impressive numbers as the Blazers marked a two-game winning streak heading into the American Airlines Arena tonight. But the Heat are solid at home, having won their last 5 home games with very dominant defense. This is a big game for Miami as they barely fit into 8th position in the Eastern Conference with their 25-26 record. You can expect them to take no prisoners tonight, making their bid for a .500 record, which they last achieved in November. Wade is consistent against the Blazers, averaging 27 points in the last four meetings, with a magnificent 33-point performance the last time around. Bodog is giving a 9.5 handicap to the Blazers. It’s a stiff call, but the Heat can beat the odds.
