New York Knicks vs Los Angeles Lakers

Posted on | February 14, 2007 | No Comments

After losing 3 in a row, the Lakers are hoping to bounce back into winning form tonight against the Knicks to avoid their worst losing streak since Feb 7 last year. Kobe Bryant continues delivering impressive numbers for the Lakers despite complaints that none of his teammates are helping him enough. It’s only so much one man can do on the basketball court, and his 36-point effort on Sunday failed to lift the Lakers pass the Cavaliers in a 99-90 defeat. With an off-the-mark Lamar Odom, they have lost 7 of their last 10 games. As they host the Knicks tonight, Kobe is expected to come up with another 30-something-point performance, which he is used to doing against the Knicks, averaging 34 points in the last eight games.

But for Los Angeles to win this one, other players have to step up to the occasion. The Knicks lost their last game against Utah in an over-time thriller that finished 104-102. With Steve Francis back in the line-up, and Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry in good form, the Knicks can be a dangerous team. They won 4 of their 5 games and it seems like positive things are happening there. Still, it takes a lot for the Knicks to beat the Lakers at the Staples Center, having lost 4 out of the last 5 there. If New York don’t win this one, it should be a close game anyway. Take the Knicks with the +6.5 handicap from bodog.
