Chicago Bulls vs Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz (31-17) takes on the Chicago Bulls (28-20) in a game which pits two playoff bound teams with an outside chance of winning it all. It was about 10 years ago that the Bulls defeated the Jazz in the NBA finals when Jordan won the last of his 6 championships. Now, both teams have been rebuilt but the shadows of that series in 1998 will surely linger.

In the past 10 home games against the Bulls, Utah had won 6 games. On the ATS, Utah has a 3-6-1 record. In their past 10 games, Utah is 7-3 while Chicago is also 7-3. This season, the Jazz are 17-6 at home while the Bulls are a dismal 8-14 on the road with a disastrous western road trip at the beginning of the season.

The Bulls has no major injury worries. Ben Wallace had been absent for a couple of games but he has recovered. With Wallace, Chicago had been transformed into a fearsome defensive beast. They just beat the Sonics in Seattle a few days ago. The Jazz are missing Carlos Boozer who is their leading scorer and rebounder so they will be somewhat affected. However, Utah has good players in Mehmet Okur, Deron Williams, Matt Harping and Derek Fisher who can step up and contribute to the success of the team. In their last game, they defeated the high flying Suns to prove their mettle. For the Bulls to win, they will have to control the tempo and master the boards. In Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Kirk Hinrich and Andres Nocioni, Chicago has a young and talented core of players who have benefited greatly from Ben Wallace’s experiences and work ethics.

Take the Jazz at (-3) handicap offered at Bodog. Utah is hard to beat at home.
