New England Patriots vs Indianapolis Colts

Posted on | January 22, 2007 | No Comments

Tom Brady and the Pats have once again shown their true colors in the playoffs as they took down the Chargers 24-21 with fiery passing by Tom Brady. Remember too that the Chargers are presently the most talented team in the NFL. But Brady might need some rest after the 51 passes he threw in that game and because of this, the weight of the game may shift a little more to Corey Dillon and Laurence Maroney. You can count on the Patriots front seven to give Peyton Manning a hard time.

The Colts quarterback was disappointing the last two games, especially the last one in which he did not manage a touchdown. The Patriots defense will have to force Manning to pass on the move which he is not so comfortable with. However, he played excellent against the Pats the last two times they met, most recently at the Gillette on Nov. 5 which the Colts won 27-20. But come the playoffs, the Patriots are just simply quite impossible to beat. New England is 5 and 0 in AFC title games while the Colts are 0-3 since their 1970 conference championship. This time around, it seems the Patriots have just too many options. The Colts are not so respected for their defense though they are quite formidable when protecting against runs. Bodog gives a +3 handicap to the Patriots and that only makes it more sensible to put your money on them.
