MLB: Angels Charging Hard

If you watch the Texas Rangers and you see their players looking over their shoulders a lot, you can’t really blame them. They hear footsteps echoing in their ears. And those footsteps are coming from Anaheim Angels charging hard.
The Texas Rangers were the media’s darling at the beginning of the season. They jumped out to a large lead in the AL West helped out greatly by injuries on the Anaheim team. The Rangers are a decent team by the so-called media experts made too much of them. And now, while they’re dealing with their own injury to Hamilton, they suddenly are about to be overtaken by the Angels.
Yes, the Angels have now won 7 straight games. They are playing the Los Angeles Dodgers and if the Angels overtake the Rangers this weekend they probably won’t look back.
While the Angels seem to have found their groove, the Yankees look like they have gotten back out of the grove they found about a month ago. They Yankees won last night but they still aren’t playing good baseball.
One of the biggest concerns for the Yankees has to be Alex Rodriguez. He is in a major slump. It’s so bad that manager Joe Girardi has decided to sit him for a couple days. A-Rod is making an awfully lot of money to be sitting on the bench. But what choice does Girardi have? A-Rod is simply too bad right now to stay in the line-up. If you’re a Yankees fan then you’re just hoping that taking a little bit of time off will help A-Rod. But it might not. A-Rod isn’t exactly young anymore and his body might be breaking down. (I will avoid bringing up anything he might have done in the past that might make his body break down faster.)
So, we’ll see how the Angels continue to play this weekend and how the Yankees do as well.
