MLB: Great Races in the NL

At the beginning of the season it looked the American League East would have the best race in all of baseball. You had the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox who spent a lot of money to make their teams better. Then you had the defending AL Champ, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Toronto Blue Jays started off really well.
But the Rays haven’t played anywhere near as well as they played last. The Blue Jays have stumbled and the Red Sox just look ordinary (so far). That leaves the Yankees who are playing great baseball and look as if they just might run away with the division. Seriously.
The best races in baseball will be in the National League East and the NL Central. That’s where the real battles are going to take place.
In the NL East there are 3 teams that could win this division – New York, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. The Mets and the Phillies are about even with each other right now and they’ll probably stay that way throughout the entire summer.
In the NL Central, there are 4 teams who could win the division. You have the Cubs. the Reds, the Brewers, and the Cardinals. Right now the Cards and the Brewers are tied atop the division. But I think this division will come down to either the Cards or the Cubs. But we will see.
As for today, some games to watch are the Red Sox and the Blue Jays both trying to keep pace with the Yankees. The White Sox and the Royals playing for 2nd in the AL Central. And the Twins and the Rays both trying to keep pace in each of their divisions.
One National League match-up to watch is the Cubs and the Dodgers. The Dodgers are probably going to run away with the NL West, while the Cubs are in a major battle in the NL Central.
