Bet at 12Bet after reading this preview.

After a thrilling draw against Arsenal, Liverpool travel to the KC Stadium this Saturday looking for a win against Phil Brown’s Hull City.

With Manchester United playing Tottenham later on Saturday, Liverpool have the opportunity to temporarily go on top of the table and heap pressure on Sir Alex Ferguson’s men if they win in East Yorkshire.

The Reds’ title ambitions took a huge blow when they could only draw 4-4 with Arsenal last week. What would have upset Rafa Benitez is the fact that Arsenal had only four shots on target, and Andrei Arshavin was allowed to convert all four. Yossi Benayoun was Liverpool’s standout player that night, and he is likely to keep his place in the starting XI as Steven Gerrard has not recovered from his injury yet.

Liverpool form- last five games- all competitions ( Liverpool scorers in brackets- most recent first)

Liverpool 4-4 Arsenal ( Fernando Torres*2, Yossi Benayoun*2)
Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool ( Fabio Aurelio, Xabi Alonso, Lucas Leiva, Dirk Kuyt)
Liverpool 4-0 Blackburn Rovers ( Fernando Torres*2, Daniel Agger, David Ngog)
Liverpool 1-3 Chelsea ( Fernando Torres)
Fulham 0-1 Liverpool ( Yossi Benayoun)

Torres has a brilliant chance of scoring. He has scored in three of Liverpool’s last five games, as the stats tell you.

Hull started the season off brightly, and were as high as third at one point of time, but the Tigers have slipped, and are now close to the relegation zone.

Hull have won only once in their last seventeen games, and despite their 2-2 draw against Liverpool in December, the Reds will be favourites to win at the KC Stadium.

Ian Ashbee is suspended, but both Bernard Mendy and Daniel Cousin could return to the starting XI.

Hull form- last five games- all competitions ( Hull scorers in brackets- most recent first)

Sunderland 1-0 Hull City
M’Boro 3-1 Hull ( Manucho)
Hull 0-0 Portsmouth
Wigan 1-0 Hull
Arsenal 2-1 Hull ( Nick Barmby)

Liverpool have conceded eight goals in their last two games, but I think they can enforce a shutout against Hull.

Verdict:- Liverpool 3-0 Hull City ( Torres, Benayoun, Kuyt)
