Old rivals Liverpool and Chelsea meet once again in Europe- this time in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.
It is the third time in three seasons that the Reds and the Blues are meeting each other in the knockout stages of this competition. With Manchester United currently at the top of the Premier League, the Champions League represents the best chance of silverware for both Liverpool and Chelsea.
Liverpool dismantled Real Madrid in the round of 16,while Chelsea had a harder time knocking out Claudio Ranieri’s Juventus. Both Albert Riera was rested in the weekend game against Fulham, with Benitez keeping one eye on this European tie. Javier Mascherano is suspended.

Chelsea have re discovered the form that had made them such formidable opponents under new coach Guus Hiddink. However the Reds are the best team on form in Europe, and this will be one very difficult hurdle to cross.
Didier Drogba is fit to play the first leg after missing the weekend Premier League game against Newcastle United.
