Tottenham Hotspur vs Charlton Athletic

The first of the two London derbies this week is the clash between Tottenham and Charlton. This match takes place at White Hart Lane and to watch the other big London derby you will have to wait until Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Charlton are currently 19th in the league and a loss here could further bring them down to the bottom. Their record this season has been woeful and have managed to win only 2 of their last 13 premiership games. Spurs are currently 10th in the league with 22 points and have won 4 of their last 8 games.

Djimi Traore is out with an injured hamstring and Souleymane Diawara is likely to take his place in defense. Charlton’s mainstay Talal El Karkouri is also doubtful with toe trouble and faces a late fitness test. There could be a return for the former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Tottenham will take field without Robbie Keane who injured his ankle in the clash against Middlesbrough. Jermaine Jenas is also out with a long term injury. Mido is also back for Spurs and will most likely start from the bench. The injury to Keane will see Jermaine Defoe to Berbatov upfront and that is quite a potent partnership. Zakora is out with a suspension after receiving a straight red in the Middlesbrough clash. Hossam Ghaly makes his return from suspension on the other hand.

I expect Spurs to dominate this match particularly due to their poor opponents. Tottenham to win the first half itself is at 2.05 and then maintain their lead is at the odds of 2.25. Jermaine Defoe to score first and Spurs to win 2-0 is at odds of 19.0. A less risky option could be Spurs to win with a clean sheet at 2.37.
