After dealing Aston Villa’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League a huge blow last week, Tottenham Hotspur will hope to break Guus Hiddink’s unbeaten record as Chelsea manager this Saturday afternoon.

Spurs were somewhat lucky last week, as one felt Villa deserved at least a point from the game. It was a great result for Harry Redknapp’s side, who are eleventh in the table going into this game.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, and their defensive record at White Hart Lane has been extremely good. Only Liverpool and Chelsea have conceded fewer goals at home this season.

Spurs form- last five games- all competitions- Spurs scorers in brackets

Aston Villa 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur ( Darren Bent, Jermaine Jenas)
Sunderland 1-1 Tottenham ( Robbie Keane)
Tottenham 4-0 Middlesbrough ( Robbie Keane, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Aaron Lennon*2)
Man Utd 0-0 Tottenham
Tottenham 1-1 Shakhtar ( Giovani)

Chelsea beat Manchester City last week, with Michael Essien scoring his second goal in as many games. The Blues have gone back to their original selves under Guus Hiddink, and will be the favourites going into this game.

Chelsea form- last five games- all competitions- Chelsea scorers in brackets

Chelsea 1-0 Man City ( Michael Essien)
Juventus 2-2 Chelsea ( Michael Essien, Didier Drogba)
Coventry 0-2 Chelsea ( Alex, Didier Drogba)
Portsmouth 0-1 Chelsea ( Didier Drogba)
Chelsea 2-1 Wigan ( John Terry, Frank Lampard)

Drogba and Lampard are excellent choices to score against Spurs. Bet for them at 12Bet.

You could also choose a defender like John Terry to score. In the last five meetings between Chelsea and Spurs, one defender has always managed to score- Juliano Belletti twice, Jonathan Woodgate twice and Ricardo Carvalho once.

Last season’s encounter ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw. I’ll take this one to be a 1-1 draw, with Drogba and Robbie Keane scoring.
