Game : Juventus vs Chelsea

Competition : UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg

Venue : Stadio Olimpico di Torino

Date : Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Juventus will aim to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg when they host inform Chelsea in Turin on Tuesday night.

Juventus played well in the second half at Stamford Bridge, and were unlucky not to have scored an away goal. However Claudio Ranieri’s men are no strangers to the task of having to overcome first leg deficits-they have already done it four times in seven attempts- a very healthy percentage.

Mohammad Sissoko is out for Juve, and so is Mauro German Camoranesi. They join Paolo De Ceglie and Cristiano Zanetti on the sidelines. Marco Marchionni is also a doubt, which leaves Juventus thin in midfield. Ranieri has opted to give Alessandro Del Piero a rest in Juve’s last two games, and Juve fans will be hoping that the wily veteran can produce another magical performance. The powerful Amauri posed problems for Chelsea’s defence at the Bridge, and is likely to partner Del Piero in defence, with Trezeguet on the bench.

Torino 0-1 Juventus ( Giorgio Chiellini)
Lazio 2-1 Juventus ( Marco Marchionni)
Juventus 1-0 Napoli ( Claudio Marchisio)
Chelsea 1-0 Juventus
Palermo 0-2 Juventus ( Momo Sissoko, David Trezeguet)

Chelsea have enjoyed a great recent run under new manager Guus Hiddink, and with the Juventus midfield under strain, one would fancy the Blues to advance. Yet they will not forget what happened when they visited Roma in the group stages.

Michael Essien made a surprise return to the squad against Coventry, but is unlikely to start here. Nicolas Anelka and Portuguese playmaker Deco are likely to miss this trip due to injury.

Portsmouth 0-1 Chelsea ( Drogba)
