Chelsea vs Watford

Posted on | November 10, 2006 | 2 Comments

Chelsea had one of it’s worst weekends last time around when they were beaten by Spurs for the first time in the Premiership. They have removed all the doubts from the critics after their 4-0 thumping of Aston Villa in the Carling cup. Voices from the Chelsea camp seem to suggest that they are back at their best playing good flowing football. We did get a chance to see some of that mid week, but have yet to see signs of that in the Premiership. One statistic that scare premiership clubs when they come to Stamford bridge is that the Champions have yet to lose a Home game under Jose Mourinho. Their last loss was against Arsenal in early 2004. If they manage to keep that record, it will be 50 games unbeaten at home in the league which is something unbelievable.

Jose Mourinho is enjoying a good time as Chelsea boss after winning at home against Barcelona and getting draw at Camp Nou. He will now be looking to bridge the gap between his team and Manchester United. Ashley Cole, Robben and Terry will all make their comeback in this match. It will be very interesting to see the Chelsea line up but I expect Mourinho to pick the usuals. Essien and Makelele in the centre along with Ballack who has been in great form off late and Frank Lampard are all looking good to start. Shevchenko looks favorite to start ahead of Joe Cole or Arjen Robben, along with Drogba who is in the form of his life this season.

With the Skipper, John Terry back we can expect Chelsea to keep a clean sheet and win this match convincingly. Chelsea to win to NIL is at 1.50 and is a good bet. We are getting rather low odds for Chelsea to win both Halves, only 2.0. A certain result looks to be a clear 2 goal victory for Chelsea which is at the odds of 1.50.
