NFL: The Super Seven – The Week Before the Super Bowl

Posted on | January 22, 2009 | No Comments

This is the perfect time to take a shot at the Super Seven. Next week we’ll get in depth about the Super Bowl and all the match-ups. We’ll also follow media day and all that other stuff that takes place during the week.

This will be the last Super Seven before the final one comes out just after the Super Bowl is played. So here we go…

1. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are the best team in football right now. There’s really not much debate there. But does that mean they will win the Super Bowl? Not necessarily.

They are favored and will be favored all the way up until kickoff. But will they win the game? No one really knows the answer to that.

2. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have earned this position. It’s just that simple.

If they get blown out in the Super Bowl then they might drop a few spots. But right now, they deserve to be listed as a solid #2 team.

3. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles came out flat against the Cardinals and couldn’t stop them in the end. I guess you could say they choked.

Still, they are the #3 team in the NFL right now.

It was a great run!

4. Baltimore Ravens

One very interesting thing to watch next year will be the play of Joe Flacco.

One very interesting thing to watch during the off season is where Suggs and Lewis go… if anywhere.

5. New York Giants

The Giants are one of the disappointing teams this year. And Eli still can’t lead his team to victory when it counts (unless a WR makes a circus catch and a Pro Bowl corner drops a sure INT).

That’s enough to write about them.

6. Tennessee Titans

The other disappointing team.

7. Indianapolis Colts

And who really cares about this spot? I could’ve stuck the Panthers or the Falcons or the Vikings here. But it doesn’t really matter. I mean, no team goes through the season striving to be 7th best, right?
