NFL: Another Early Look at the Super Bowl

As the drama begins to unfold for other teams this week (and next week I’m sure) there is a lot to write about besides the Super Bowl game. However, I promised a look at the Arizona Cardinals offense against the Pittsburgh Steelers defense so that is what we’ll look at today.
Obviously this appears to be the most interesting match-up for the game. The Steelers have the best defense in the NFL and the Cardinals have one of the hottest offenses in the NFL when they are clicking on all cylinders. So, which side will win out in this one? That is the question.
On one side the Steelers have a ton of talented players. They fly around the ball, hit the snot out of everyone, and generate turnovers. On the other side the Cardinals have a ton of skill players. They have a great quarterback, a very good running back, and some awesome wide receivers. My big concern for the Cardinals is their offensive line. They allowed the Eagles to create some havoc in the 2nd half of the Championship Game. The Steelers pass rush is much fiercer than the Eagles pass rush.
It is very possible that the Steelers will get to Kurt Warner and knock him around and quite possibly knock him out of this game. It is very possible. Believe me, this will be one of the goals of the Steelers defense. They will want to hit Warner hard and hit him often. But this just might work in the Cardinals favor.
Cardinals coach Ken Wissenhunt knows the Steelers defense. And he will fight fire with fire. He will try to counter the Steelers blitzes with big plays. But the Cards better be careful because this might result in turnovers. And, of course, that is just what the Steelers want.
