Game : Tottenham Hotspur ( 20th- 20 points) vs Portsmouth ( 15th- 23 points)

Competition : English Premier League

Venue : White Hart Lane, London

Date : Sunday, January 18, 2009

Time : 16.00 GMT

Harry Redknapp faces his former club on Sunday when Tottenham Hotspur meet Portsmouth in the English Premier League.

Spurs are currently at the bottom of the league because West Brom and Blackburn won their games against Middlesbrough and Newcastle on Saturday. They lost to Wigan last week, with Maynor Figueroa scoring the winner for the Latics in injury time. Redknapp also criticised his players for losing their composure in the final minutes, just as they had done against West Brom the week before. Jermaine Jenas and Alan Hutton are injured. Left back Benoit Assou Ekotto is suspended. Pavlyuchenko should partner Jermain Defoe upfront. Fancy Defoe to score at his former club? 12Bet give you excellent odds on Defoe scoring against Pompey.

Tottenham Hotspur last five games- all competitions

Wigan 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham 4-1 Burnley ( Michael Dawson, Jamie O’Hara, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Burnley OG)
Tottenham 3-1 Wigan – FA Cup ( Roman Pavlyuchenko*2, Luka Modric)
West Brom 2-0 Tottenham
Tottenham 0-0 Portsmouth

Portsmouth beat Bristol City in the midweek Cup tie, with Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar scoring for Tony Adams’ side. Pompey have lost their last four league games, and their last win dates back to November, when they beat Blackburn 3-2. Sean Davis and David Nugen could return to the squad, but Papa Diop and Richard Hughes continue to remain absentees.

Portsmouth form- last five games- all competitions

Bristol City 0-2 Portsmouth ( P.Crouch, N.Kranjcar)
Portsmouth 0-0 Bristol City
Arsenal 1-0 Portsmouth
Portsmouth 1-4 West Ham ( Nadir Belhadj)
Bolton 2-1 Portsmouth ( Peter Crouch)

Tottenham’s home form isn’t too bad, and I see them getting full points in this one. Tottenham to win by two goals to one, with O’Hara, Defoe and Kranjcar scoring. Spurs go above Pompey in the table if they win.
