Arsenal’s youngsters will get another chance to shine when the Gunners take on Plymouth in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.
The young Gunners were impressive in Arsenal’s Carling Cup campaign, where they eventually lost to Burnley in the last eight, and Wenger is expected to field several of his youngsters against the Pilgrims. The game will however come too soon for Croatian international Eduardo, who has not featured this season so far after his horror injury against Birmingham early this year. Jay Simpson and Gavin Hoyte will not feature as they have gone on loan to West Bromwich Albion and Watford respectively. Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas remain sidelined with their respective injuries.
Arsenal form- last five games- all competitions.
Arsenal 1-0 Portsmouth ( William Gallas)
Arsenal 2-2 Aston Villa ( Denilson, Abou Diaby)
Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool ( Robin Van Persie)
Middlesbrough 1-1 Arsenal ( Emmanuel Adebayor)
FC Porto 2-0 Arsenal
Arsenal have beaten Plymouth all the times the two have met in cup competition, and have beaten Championship opposition at this stage in three of the last four years.
Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock managed to sign Manchester United David Gray on loan prior to this game. Gray is eligible for the Arsenal game, but top scorer Paul Gallagher is a doubt after suffering an injury in the boxing day clash against Southampton. Simon Walton is suspended. So is defender David McNamee. The Pilgrims have scored only four times in their last eight games, and their recent form does not make for very good reading.

Plymouth 2-0 Southampton ( Rory Fallon, Luke Summerfield)
Barnsley 2-0 Plymouth
Plymouth 1-1 QPR ( Steven MacLean)
