Wigan vs Manchester United

Manchester Untied travel the short distance to Wigan in search of the vital three points which would help them stay at the top of the table and three points clear of Chelsea atleast till they play on Sunday. Manchester Untied started the season wonderfully but went through a small blip if I may call it, when they dropped 5 points a few games back. But the victory over Newcastle United is just the tonic they need to keep it going. Wigan lost all three games to United last season including the Carling cup final. Wigan on the other hand have not showed the grit and determination to stay in the premiership that they did last year.
Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping that the in form Portuguese star, Christiano Ronaldo will shake off an ankle injury which he picked up in the mid-week Euro 2008 qualifier against Poland. Ronaldo has been in great form this season for both club and country but couldn’t show the same magic in his country’s 2-0 away defeat. The injury problems for Sir Alex don’t end here, Ryan Giggs will be still be out with a hamstring injury, but would feature in the UEFA champions league on Tuesday. Gabriel Heinze looks a doubt to play even mid-week after he limped off against Newcastle. He is scheduled to return against Liverpool next week. On the other hand Wigan boss Paul Jewell has not yet announced who he will be playing tomorrow. New comer Andy Webster could start from the bench as he is still not fully fit. Ryan Taylor and Steve McMillan are still out for another 3-4 weeks.
After our disappointing predictions for the Euro matches, we intend to get the result right this time. Manchester United will be too much for Wigan, and I believe that they will go to win this match. Not by 3-4 goals but they might just knick it by the odd goal or two. The predictions would have been different if Ronaldo was certain for the match, along with out of form Wayne Rooney. An Asian Handicap on Manchester United ( -0.5, -1.0 ) at 1.80 is where my money is. Manchester United to win by 1 goal is at the odds of 3.50, so that is also another bet you can look at.
