Scotland vs France

Scotland will be hosts to the World Cup runners up in the Euro 2008 qualifiers. Raymond Domenech will be looking to win this and improve on their standings after beating Italy in their last qualifying match. He knows one thing for sure that Scotland are not going to go down easily. They do have grit and determination to do well at this level. France on the other hand look very strong after two consecutive wins against Georgia and Italy 3-1.
The debate whether Makelele will be called up for not has been put to rest after the France coach made it clear that the priorities for the mid-fielder should lie with his country. He although indicated that he would give Makelele a rest against weaker oppositions, so he can surely expect to sit out the match against Faroe Islands if that’s the case. There are a couple of other injury worries for Raymond Domenech, Louis Saha will not take part with a Hamstring injury and Sidney Govou suffering from an ankle injury. This gives Nicolas Anelka a chance to break into the team after almost 2 years without international football. On the other hand Scotland will welcome their captain Barry Ferguson after he missed the last two matches of the Euro qualifiers with a heel injury. A big blow for Scotland is the suspended Kenny Miller who will not be able to take part in the match against France, but will definitely play against Ukraine.
Scotland look impressive after beating Faroe 6-0 but France will be too strong a hurdle for them to overcome. Even though I am pretty sure France will win and I normally don’t put my money where odds are low, but there’s always exceptions. France to win at 1.61 is a strong bet even with the low odds. Thierry Henry to score at 2.00 is a good bet too after looking at the strikers form. Asian Handicap on France (-1.0) at 2.14 is also another bet you can possibly look at.
