MLB: Rain May Stop Game 3

Jamie Moyer is set to take the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies in Game Three of the World Series. The ageless wonder will go against Matt Garza for the Tampa Bay Rays. While Moyer is very impressive, especially at his age, he might wish he was retired while going against Garza.
But this game may not get played at all. A lot of rain is in the forcast for Philadelphia. The odds are that they game will be delayed and probably even cancelled. Of course that begs the questions: Which team would benefit from a night off?
Well, this would actually make it the second night off since the teams traveled yesterday. And with the Phillies trying to get back into a groove, the break would certainly hurt them more. That would be two more days off after only playing two games. That would surely hurt them. And it would help the Rays get a little more rest, since they needed seven game to beat the Red Sox in the ALCS.
Now, whenever they get to play Game Three, the question will become who needs the game more. Well, I think it’s the Phillies who really need to win this game. They don’t want to go down two games to one. And they also don’t want to let the Rays get on a roll.
So, the Phillies have to hope that the game gets played on Saturday night. And they also have to hope that Jamie Moyer can out-pitch Matt Garza. But the Phillies will have a racous home crowd on their side. And they’ll also have the advantage of the Rays not being all that used to less than perfect weather.
So how will Game Three play out? Well, we will see. If not on Saturday night then probably Sunday. It all depends on the rain or lack there of.
