MLB: The Rays Hit Back

As if there was any real doubt, the Tampa Bay Rays came out on Thursday night and took care of business. They scored early and held on for a rather routine 4-2 win. That ties the World Series as a game apiece as we prepare to head up to Philly to play three. And it will definately be three.
So who has the advantage as we prepare for Game Three of the World Series?
Well, coming in the Rays definately had the advanatage. But now the Phillies have stolen homefield advantage away and can close out the Series in Philly is they can win the next three games. But does anyone really believe that could happen?
Well, anything is possible, of course. But the Rays know how to play ball and they know how to buckly down and win when they need to win. So I, and probably the rest of the baseball world, would be shocked if the Rays lost all three. In fact, I would be very surprised if the Rays lost Game Three. I just don’t see it happening.
I think the Rays win Game Three and take control of the series. Then they take one of the next two in Philly and come back home and close things out in six.
However, the more the Phillies play the more they should be able to get in a groove. Not surprising, the Phillies only managed 5 runs in the first two games of this series. And two of those runs came off a Chase Utley homer in the top of the first in the first game. So the Phillies have only scored three runs in the last 17 innings. And if not for two bad batters by Scott Kazmir way back in the first inning of Game One, the Phillies would be in a deep hole.
But such is what happens when a team has too much time off. They have a hard time getting their timing back. But the Phillies should be able to find their stride back in Philly.
But I still like the Rays in Game Three. From there, the Phillies will have a hard time winning Series.
