Sacramento Monarchs @ Detroit Shock

On Wednesday, the Detroit Shock defeated the Sacramento Monarch 72-52 to tie the best of 5 series at 2-2. This means the game five on Saturday shall be the decisive games, winner takes all. This series has been anything but normal. Every game has been a blowout, all decided by double digits. Coming into game 4, the Sacramento Monarch had dominated the series, leading at half time in every game. However, on Wednesday the Detroit Shock got back to playing their signature defense allowing only 2 points in the 4th quarter.
There are some headlines spicing up the game. Sacramento Monarch center Yolanda Griffith yelled “We’re still going to get that championship!” she yelled from center court — mostly into the backs of disappointed, departing fans who had just watched the Shock dominate the defending champions. That comment was not smart, why motivate the shock. We’ve seen this situation thousands of time in sports, and it usually comes back to bite them.
Predicting this game is difficult, considering the scores have been so erratic. “Effort has determined all four games,” Sacramento’s Kara Lawson said. “That’s the only factor, in my eyes. They wanted (Game 4) a little bit more, apparently. We have to get that desire back.” Both teams know how to win a championship, Sacramento the defending champions, and Shock winning it a few years back.
There has been a lot of talk in this playoff about the referring. Detroit Shock Bill Lambeer has constantly berated the officials. The WNBA has said in statements that the referring has not been perfect, but it has not been biased towards either team.
“There was nothing magical that the coaching staff did,” Laimbeer said. “The Finals are about a test of wills, and who wants it more. No question about it, we came in with a chip on our shoulder to prove who we are.”
In game 4, Cheryl Ford looked like her father, Karl Malone. Early the Shock established an inside game which set the tempo. I think game 5 will be a close game, because something’s got to give. Just a note, game five will not be played in The Palace of Auburn Hills, the stadium where the Shock and Pistons play their home games because of a consort scheduled their. It will be played in Joe Louis Arena, the place where the Detroit Red Wins play their home games.
Game Predictions
The Detroit Shock has momentum and home court advantage. Look for them to jump ahead early to get the crowd into the game. Sacramento Monarchs 74 @ Detroit Shock 77
