MLB: Rays Shine Brightly

Did you doubt the Rays? Come on, be honest.
Did you really think the Rays could beat the Red Sox in a Game Seven? I know I had my doubts. But that’s nothing new. How many times have I doubted the Rays this season? And how many times have they proven ne wrong.
Well, too many times.
But I did give them enough credit to be able to win a tough game. Yet, they continue to amaze me and prove to me that they are destined to win the World Series.
If they can knock off the Boston Red Sox, the defending World Series Champions, in an all or nothing Game Seven when it looked like the Red Sox had all the momentum, then there is nothing and no team that can stop the Rays.
So now Tampa Bay will advance on to play the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. The Rays have homefield advantage, thanks to the American League winning the All-Star Game. But the Phillies will be rested and have their pitching set-up just the way they want it.
But you know what? All that time off can be a bad thing, and often it turns out to be horrible.
So I expect the Phillies to come out flat in Game One. I expect the Rays to jump out to a quick 1-0 lead. And from there, I’m not sure what will happen. I mean, the Phillies are a really good team too.
But I do know this: The Rays will win it all. They have proven time and time again that they can win games when they have to. And they’ve also proven that they’re easily the best team in the MLB right now. They have everything it takes to win it all. So, they will do just that.
But how many games? Will the Rays win it in four, five, six, or seven? Well, if I had to put a number on it, I would have to say the Rays in five.
